This piece, which is made from Jesmonite with a wooden base, evolved well beyond my original intentions, it started out as a bust of an imaginary man with a very up to date hair style. When the first bust came out of the mould, I had intended to slice it as a metaphor of how we sometimes respond to stress. I was in a class at city lit and my class mates started making comments related to the bust about the manosphere and looks maxxing (which I had to look up, and I do not recommend it). My reaction to this was to want to silence those destructive voices, so I took some wet and dry paper and sanded off the mouth. It felt immensely satisfying. At that point my brain jumped to the three wise monkeys, and I knew I had to cast another two to accompany this, one with the eyes removed and one with the ears removed.
